Delivered In partnership with the Queensland Museum, the Cross River Rail Experience Centre takes visitors into the past, present, and future of travel in South East Queensland using state-of-the-art digital interactive displays.
The Experience Centre offers Reality Theatre and 3D trip to what lies ahead with the Cross River Rail — a step back in time, a look at the present, and journey to the future of Brisbane’s transport system using the interactive touchscreens at the seven-metre Discovery Table; a purpose-built VR Station to self-guide users through Cross River Rail’s future stations and over-station precincts; and a touch screen based Information Wall.
About Cross River Rail Project
The Cross River Rail project spans 10.2 kilometres from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, including a 5.9km tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD. It involves the construction of four new underground station at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street, as well as upgrades to Dutton Park and Exhibition stations.
Under the 2019-20 Budget, the State Government will set aside $1.480 billion to commence the major construction work and progress the planning, procurement, and development associated with the Cross River Rail project.
The Experience Centre is located on Level 1, 151 Elizabeth Street; entry is free. Opening hours is 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays (closed on Tuesdays); and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekends.
